Eric Sommer's Webpage

I'm so glad you found my page! Sure it may be a bit plain, but you know what they say - "You can't spell generic without Eric".

There's more to me than just a questionable life philosophy though. I grew up in Bountiful, Utah with my parents and five siblings. I loved school growing up and some the most influential people in my life have been my teachers, which is a big reason I wanted to become one myself. So after a religious mission for my church, I moved up to Utah State. I began studying Biological Engineering before realizing that I loved working with people more than I thought, so after a year of school, I decided to switch into the Math Education program and have loved the things I've learned and the people I've met.

As for hobbies, there's a lot to pick from. I grew up going camping, hiking, and biking and I still love all three even though I don't get to go as often anymore. By some miracle I learned that I love to cook, which makes living at college a lot more enjoyable, although it has made my Christmas lists a bit more bland. I love to sing in choirs (I'm a bass if you were wondering) and have met some of my closest friends while participating in them. When I'm not going out on some wild adventure with my friends, I enjoy watching TV shows on my laptop while cross stitching. The thing I'm best known for is loving flightless birds, especially ostriches. In fact, the only real bucket list item I have is befriending an ostrich and then riding it.
