This interactive library contains applets on the subject of generic mathematics up through vector spaces. Sums of angles in triangles, vector cross product, congruency, and matrices are just a few of the topics demonstrated here. The applets are divided up into categories, with one of the categories being High School. In this category there are over 140 applets covering the subjects of trigometric functions, geometry I, geometry II, calculus, vectors, conics, and complex numbers. There is also a Middle School section which contains 90 applets on angles, parallel lines, congruent figures, conservation of area, similarity, and the Pythagorean theorem. This smattering of topics makes this website a great resource for just about any topic taught.

I really enjoy this applet library because it seems to be about the easiest to use, plus many of the libraries I found linked back to this one so I daresay many other people agree with me that this is a great place to get help. This is a collection of 279 applets ranging from middle school math to calculus and conics. The majority of the applets are for the middle school age, which is great for building that foundation that high school math will rest upon. The table of contents of this library is by far the best and it is interesting to look at. This website contains great explanation of trigonometry and complex numbers, some of my least favorite topics. Perhaps this website will be a great resource for me more than students.

This is another website that I really like due to the easy to understand table of contents. It has pictures of the applet as well as great descriptions, so as a teacher I wouldn’t necessarily have to try all the applets before finding the perfect one. Also, this was another library that was linked to often from other libraries, another sign of others recognizing the worth of this site. The topics covered here include: simply numbers and operations, to geometry and algebra, probability, statistics, modeling, and discrete. Plus I thought that many of these applets were interesting to look at in addition to containing great information.

This applet library is set up similar to an applet library we looked up in class, in that there is a grid and you can look up according to grade or topic or both. You can look up subjects in the pure math or applied math field, and in different areas. The downsides to this website are that they are for 10th through 12th grades only. I chose to include this website because I liked the way the applets explained the subjects that were included on this site. This is more limited in the resources but still great for what it does have. (Ranging from slope, to probability, the unit circle, to linearity.)

Stat Applet

This website it probably one of my least favorites because you have to look for the applets, they are not just right there. But this is a great resource for teaching statistics. I especially enjoyed the applet on the venn diagram. It is a great way to help students visualize what is going on with unions, intersections, complements, and all the combinations. This website also has some great applets for showing how the curves in statistics work and how they were obtained. While this website doesn’t feel as user friendly as some of the others, it is still a great resource if I find myself teaching statistics or when I touch on probability.
