Pythagorean Theorem Applets

- Pythagorean Applet 2 would be
great way to introduce the subject. It takes the familiar a² + b² = c², and shows exactly what that means.
- Pythagorean Applet 6 is a
useful way to show the graphical proof of the Pythagorean Theorem. This will help students see that it doesn't have
to be as complicated as they think.
- Pythagorean Triples
is an applet that will let you pick one number, and will then calculate all the Pythagorean triples that have that
value, or a smaller one. Then it wil do it again and it will calculate the primitive triples. This emphasizes the idea
that if (n, m, p) make a triple, then K(n, m, p) also makes a triple.
- Pythagorean Theorem Calculator
will calculate the side or the hypotenuse, no matter what the number. This shows, that while there are several whole
number triples, there are also lots of triples that have an irrational number involved.
- Pythagorean Explorer would be a great way to evaluate students. It makes them use the pythagorean thoerem
to solve problems. It keeps score for the students. It would also be a great way to make them practice.
