Applet Collections | Description |
Mathematics Education Applets | This site is for all who are interested in mathematics. The applets are interactive, and mathematical topics include applets for middle school students, calculus, vectors, trigonometry, complex numbers, conics, and various other topics.
This site also provides geometry applets that are conveniently categorized by level (easy, intermediate, and advanced). The applets relate to such topics as area, volume, angles, and the Pythagorean Theorem. |
Math Applets at Saint Louis University | The collection of applets here are designed for use in mathematics courses below the level of calculus. Each applet includes a description of what topics it can be used for and many of them are created with common programs such as GeoGebra and Geometer's Sketchpad. |
Larry Green's Applet Page | This applet collection ranges from basic math to intermediate and college algebra. It even includes statistics applets and fun math games. |
Rossman/Chance Applet Collection | The Rossman/Chance collection is all about statistics; including but not limited to Data Analysis, Probability, Sampling Distributions Simulation, and Statistical Inference. |
Applets for Math Explorations | These applets mostly explore precalculus, calculus, and basic calculator/ graphing topics. Therefore, they should be used for higher mathematics courses. |
Applets | Description |
Sine, Cosine and Tangent of an Angle | This applet allows students to pick the angle of the circle, and see it graphed on the Sine, Cosine, or Tangent curve. Thus, the user is able to discover the relationship between the unit circle and the associated curves. |
Translations and Compressions | The Translations and Compressions Applet is a GeoGebra applet that lets you compare the graph of a function with the graph of a function transformed by translations and compressions or expansions. |
Exponent Invaders | This is a game applet in which the goal is to eliminate all of the aliens. You are given an expression that involves exponents and each alien caries with it a possible simplification. The player uses a missile to shoot down all of the aliens with an expression that is not equivalent to the given expression. Furthermore, the player is to send a rose to the alien that has the expression that is equivalent. All in all, it's a fun way for students to familiarize themselves with a variety of exponants |
Histogram Bin Width | In this applet students are able to see how the bin width changes the look of histograms by allowing the user to change the number of bins used in the histogram. It also allows the user to change the axes limits and even allows them to enter their own data. This makes it easy for the user to visualize the effects such changes have on histograms. |
Parabolas | This applet Graphs a parabola, showing coefficients for the equation in both standard form and general form. By doing so, the user is able to explore the relationships between the two forms. This includes how a change in one form creates a change in the other and how important characteristics of the function that is displayed in one form can be found in the other also. |
