This is Kelsey...

Hello, my name is Kelsey Maxfield. I am a junior at Utah State University, and
I am majoring in Mathematics and Statisitics Education.
I claim that I grew up in a school. I come from a long line of educators, one of them being
my mother. With an entire extended family in education it was hard not to gain an appreciation
for learning early in life. I had opportunities, while in school to discover who I was and to try
new things. I was privledge to go to schools that hired the best, and therefore I was taught by some
of the best educators in the state of Utah. I would have to say that one of the reasons I chose to become
an educator would have to be because of these teachers, who taught me about Mathematics, History,
Career and Technical Education, and Science that I decided to go into education. Another reason
that I chose to be an educator because my love of learning. I think that it was in my mom's classroom
that I fell in love with learning. Although mathematics wasn't my first love, it became a passion of mine
while in high school. The teachers that taught me mathematics in high school showed me how to be a sucessful
mathematics teacher. They taught me that caring about your students and pushing them to suceed would help
your students be sucessful.
