The Existance of Limits
For a limit to exist:
The left hand limit must exist at x=c
The right hand limit must exist at x=c
The left and right hand limits at C must be equal.
What does this really mean?
Sometimes your function can get really crazy. Occasionally you will need to find the limit of an x value when the limit is intending to reach two different points. One from the left, and one from the right. This is when you need to calculate the left-hand limit, and right-hand limit.
Limits not existing
A limit does not exist if
The left and right hand limits aren’t equal
The function increases or decreases infinitely at a given x-value.
