Tools for Learning and Teaching Mathematics
We as teachers have a big job creating lesson plans and finding effective ways to help our students learn. Following is a
list of resources that can help.
Teachers.net is a unique resource in its making available
the opporunity for teachers to chat and communicate their ideas to one another. There are also resources such as lesson plans
and even job opening postings can be found here.
Teacher Tools is a great resource for documents that could be used in
the classroom whether it is a lesson plan, forms and letters, or mapping out substitute lesson outlines. This blog was started
in 2000 and ran for over ten years! So, there are some great ideas.
Illuminations: Resources for Teaching Mathematics was created by the National Council of Teachers
of Mathematics to assist educators in teaching. There are over 607 lessons and 108 online activities that can serve as
tools for you as a teacher to be more effective in the classroom. This site also contains other links to many more great
sources.
Free Mathematics Tutorials, Problems and Worksheets is a great resource
for practice tests including AP test, SAT or even the GRE! This site contains both tutorials and worksheets.
There is an all around great varienty of various tools to learn and provides ample amount of opportunity for practice.
Research Guides : Mathematics Education is an awesome resource
from Eastern Michigan University that has not a number of classroom activities and ideas. In addition to that, however, this
site contains links to available tutorials that could be used in or out of the classroom.
Math for America is amazing! This site allows
educators to be linked across America in sharing their ideas for skills practice, lesson plans, games and challenges and so much
more. There are also great resources for teachers in professional areas such as further education, benefits of an educator
